Hampshire History Trust (HHT) is delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Gerry to its board, joining eight trustees committed to celebrating the rich history and heritage of Hampshire.
Following a successful career in the IT industry, Julian brings with him extensive experience in personnel and project management as well as a wealth of knowledge of the charity sector, having served as a trustee of The Winchester Beacon since 2022.
Julian’s involvement with HHT began more than four years ago when he started volunteering as a researcher and episode host for the Trust’s Hampshire HistBites Podcast The podcast now has over 70 episodes available, exploring hidden histories and fascinating untold tales.
On his appointment, Julian said: “I’ve been fascinated and enlightened by the Heritage Open Days visits in the past and would like to help make those opportunities available to as many residents and visitors as possible in the future”.
HHT organises the annual Winchester Heritage Open Days festival, running from 11-20th September this year. With more than 200 free events taking place across the county from tours of historic buildings to family friendly days out, this year’s programme is shaping up to be the best yet.
