We are a voluntary organisation committed to community participation in history and heritage. We believe that sharing stories from our history and heritage enriches all our lives. Stories connect people, inspire curiosity, create meaning and bring enjoyment.

We aim to do this by coordinating Winchester Heritage Open Days every September, and to run free and low cost history and educational projects such as our podcast channel ‘Hampshire HistBites’.

Committed to community participation, we believe in creating opportunities to discover and celebrate Hampshire’s rich and diverse history and heritage, and in sharing stories that connect people, create meaning, inspire curiosity, and bring enjoyment for all ages.

Our future ambition is to set up an annual history festival to include talks, lectures and guided walks, exhibitions, workshops and children’s activities, visits to historic buildings, and living history events. We also intend to launch a blue plaque scheme, starting in Winchester.

The Board is always happy to hear from other individuals who are interested in exploring volunteering roles with the Trust. Check out volunteering page to find out more about the roles and how to apply.

You can support Hampshire’s Heritage by buying tickets in our Summer raffle. Every raffle ticket helps us fund free community history projects, our Hampshire HistBites podcast, and the county-wide Winchester Heritage Open Days Festival.
